Hutchins was able to post a bogey-free, 64 in the second round to shoot a two-round total of 135 which placed him in a second place tie with University of Illinois player, Luke Guthrie. Following a near miss by Guthrie on the first playoff hole, Hutchins was able to fight off his nerves and drop the birdie putt to advance to the 111th U.S. Open Championship to be played at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland. Hutchins and Noh will join 154 of the world's best players in one of the most challenging tournaments in all of professional golf. We wish both players the best of luck...we look forward to following them at Congressional! A special THANK YOU to all of our volunteers and the staff at Springfield Country Club! This event was a HUGE success because of your efforts! |
